Study abroad plan builder: your next steps and document checklist

Answer four questions and get your own step-by-step study abroad plan: what to do next, when to do it, which documents you need and the official page to check each rule. Built for students in Nepal going to the USA, Canada, the UK or Australia. No sign-up. Your ticks stay in your own browser only.

My study abroad plan

Rules last checked 8–12 October 2026 against official government pages. A planning aid, not legal or immigration advice.

Your document checklist

REQUIRED = an official source says it is needed for this visa. CONDITIONAL = needed only in some cases, or the officer may ask. COMMONLY USEFUL = not a stated rule, but often helps explain your funds.

Your answers and ticks are saved only in this browser on this device. Nothing is sent to us.

What this tool does

It turns the official rules for your country and situation into an ordered list of next steps and a document checklist. Each step says what to do, roughly when, and links the government page so you can check it yourself. If a rule is about to change, the plan shows the current rule and the new one side by side, with the date.

Who it is for

Students applying from Nepal, and parents helping them, who want to know what comes next without paying someone just to explain public rules. Most steps also apply to students from India and other countries, except the Nepal-specific items such as the NOC.

Where the rules come from

  • USA: U.S. Department of State, ICE (SEVIS), DHS Study in the States, USCIS and the Federal Register.
  • Canada: Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) on canada.ca.
  • UK: GOV.UK and the Immigration Rules.
  • Australia: the Department of Home Affairs and Study Australia (an Australian Government site).
  • Nepal: the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology NOC portal.

Every step and every required document shows its source and the date we last checked it. We check these pages when rules are announced and at least once a month. See our editorial policy.

Assumptions and limits

  • It assumes you apply from Nepal with a Nepali passport. Some requirements, especially Australia’s, depend on your passport and your education provider.
  • Timings such as “12–18 months before your intake” are planning guides, not deadlines. Your university’s deadlines come first.
  • It does not predict whether you will get a visa. No tool can.
  • “Probably done” on earlier stages is a guess from your answer. Untick anything you have not finished.
  • Canada outside Quebec only. Quebec has its own rules.
