How the student visa money calculator works
- Australia: A$29,710 a year for living costs for the main applicant (in place since 10 May 2024), plus A$10,394 for a partner, plus tuition still to pay and travel.
- UK: £1,529 a month in London or £1,171 outside London, for up to 9 months. For applications made on or after 30 November 2026 these rise to £1,570 and £1,203. Add course fees you still owe. Funds must be held for 28 days in a row.
- Canada: CAD 23,448 for one person from 1 September 2026, rising with family size (CAD 29,192 for two, 35,888 for three, 43,572 for four, plus 6,318 for each extra person), plus first-year tuition and travel. Quebec is different.
- USA: no fixed amount. Show at least the first-year total printed on your Form I-20.
The calculator converts using the Nepal Rastra Bank selling rate, because that is roughly what a bank charges when you buy foreign currency. Indian rupee figures use Nepal Rastra Bank’s fixed rate of NPR 160 per INR 100. Your bank’s own rate may differ, so leave a buffer.
