USA
There is no national health system for students. Check your university’s insurance requirement and waiver rules before arrival, and learn the difference between the campus health centre, urgent care and the emergency room.
Canada
Coverage depends on the province you study in. Some provinces cover international students (sometimes after a waiting period), while others rely on mandatory school plans. Check your school’s international student office for exactly what applies to you.
UK
The IHS is paid when you apply for your visa (£776 per year for students, charged for the length of your visa). It gives you access to NHS services on broadly the same basis as residents. Some treatments, such as dental and prescriptions in England, may still cost extra.
Australia
